It's really sad to see this happen anywhere. While a rather old lighthouse (190 years according to the story), it's still a shame that it had to sit for the past 13 years without any help. I imagine that in third world countries any fundraising for these structures would be difficult, at best.

I would at least hope that they were able to salvage the Lantern that I see laying in the water in the photo.
