A light in the Caribean....

A forum to discuss lighthouses in Canada, Australia, Europe and Asia.

A coworker and friend of mine had the opportunity to go on a cruise in October and brought me some of his photos of a light that they passed while on the cruise. I wanted to share them here and see if anyone knew which light it is and where it is located.

What an awesome setting! I don't know what lighthouse it is, but I wouldn't mind living there!!!! :D

Thanks for sharing your friend's photos, Stephen!

I'd say that looks like it's the Hog Island Light at the entrance to the Nassau Harbor in the Bahamas. I was thinking about this same light earlier today as it appears in the preview for a new movie coming out called Into the Blue

Looks like the same light to me! Thanks!

I thought that it was neat to see how large the cruise ships are compared to the light.

I was pretty sure this was the right one. I've had a couple of friends go on cruises by this light and pass along some photos. There is also a smaller light on the opposite side of the harbor but the light you posted photos of is definitely the nicer of the 2. At one point I belive this one was painted with red stripes? I think the postcard I have from one of my friends shows some nice pink faded stripes???

I went on a research quest with this one once:

I've only ever sold one picture off of my website. It was this light, but the picture that my brother-in-law took. We split the proceeds. 8)
