Hi Joke,
Welcome to the list. I have seen your name on the WLS forum.

The Admiralty List of Lights and Foghorns for this part of the world lists the following:

Swan Spit, 38*15.5' S, 144*42' E. Quick flashing red, 4meters asl, 3 mile range, Red square on a red pile.

All the navigation aids in the Port Philip bay are maintained by Victorian Parks Service:

http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/

You could try emailing them and see if they have any information on the light. I don't have a photo of it unfortunaately and Lighthouses of Australia does not have it listed.

Thanks Kevin,
I will try to emailing Victorian Parks Service.
I understand, you have no information of the old lights. The floating light and pilelight between 1840 and 1906.

It's K2211 on page 99 of volume K.
I will have a word with my daughter's partner who is employed by the Parks Victoria and he also looks after several nav aids mainly around Williamstown on the west side of Port Philip. This is not far from Queenscliff.

It seems you are mainly interested in the original floating light.
