8O What! $2,026.00 for a Harbour Light!!!! That's crazy! I feel sorry for the person who pays that *much* for a Harbour Light.

Wow, that's amazing. I'd never dream of paying that but obviously some people would. The starting bid was only ten bucks, so the seller certainly started it off right.

8O 8O 8O Sure makes me wish the Ft. Niagara light I have sitting in my closet would even go for a fraction of that!

The seller obviously didn't know what he was offering for sale, or he would have had a reserve (a high one), and the shipping and insurance would have been much, much higher.

I'm betting he is mighty surprised, and the winner is going to be mighty happy. Even without a box, this is a highly sought after collectible.

Sought after collectable or not, I don't spend that much money a year on lighthousing expences.

Man, that's a lot o' cash!

Well, I wouldn't, and couldn't either. I just wish I had bought it when it first came on the market way back when.

My point though is that a Harbour Lights collector who does have that kind of money to spend, will do it for this particular piece if he doesn't already have it. There are a few but only a few HL's that create this kind of a stir and can bring that kind of money.

Unless you are a HL collector, I guess it would be hard to relate to.

Definitely think I'll stick to my turtle collection! That one is a bit easier on the wallet most of the time. Unfortunately there a few pricey ones in Hawaii that would have made excellent additions to my collection!

While I love the many Harbour Lights, my apartment can only hold so much so I've had to limit myself to the Little Lights. Just about all of the full sized pieces I do have stay in my closet.

It's good to see those prices rising! :)
I bought my CH102 in January, 1992 and paid $100 for it. I had my
doubts about whether I did the right thing, or not, because it was the
first Harbour Lights that I ever purchased, and a hundred bucks was
a lot of money! :D :D

P.S. I wish they would all appreciate in value like that one! :)
