Here's Part I

Here's Part II:

Canon 18-55 @ 54mm, 1/400, f/13

If you notice above, I tracked down my buddy the heron.

Sigma 70-300 @ 300mm w/1.4x teleconverter, 1/800, f/10

He never left his post. Maybe he had a late night out on New Year's Eve?

Finally, a little after 8am, a mist started rising off of the almost still water. Between the reflection and the sky blending into the water, I think this has a really freaky feel to it.

Larry,

Awe ... simple awe ....

They just got better ... and better ... and better ...

Thanks is too mild a word for sharing THESE shots ... I mean, many of us here are a bunch of big bird fanatics, but that last shot, the refelctive one ... awe, I said.

You hit the mother lode ... Thanks again

Barry

I really don't know how to describe those photos, but just know that I would be thrilled to have been able to have been their to photograph these scenes. If you have more, I know I will be interested in seeing them.

Great job and thanks for sharing!
:yay:

Larry,

You have to love "shooting" the big birds. As the weather warms maybe you can come across the Great Blue's cousin. But, if you get to close they may puff up and shake a wee bit

Heartedly agree with Christina...MORE! MORE!

Larry, they are all wonderful. I like them all, and have my favorites, one of which is the scene of the lighthouse in the early pink light with the Christmas lights around the lantern room.

Wish I could see that...so thanks so much for sharing your experience!

An outstanding collection of images Larry !!! You really had a great morning to shoot, and you took full advantage of it for sure!!!

I'd dare say that the shot with the single heron on the piling is a contest winner. I'm not naming a favorite, but I can see that one with a 1st place ribbon under it.

If you have any others you'd like to share, we'd be glad to see them.

More great shots! I love your last one, with the mist coming off the water and the reflection of the clouds. Absolutely stunning!
