A few from the LSS's

Here is one of each of the Chicamacomico station buildings.

Note that the entire building is almost painted and looks brand new.

And one of a shell just out of the surf on the sound side at Little Kinnakeet.

Nice looking shots Stephen, I wish I would have visited some of those stations when I was out in the OBX.

Well, make the trip out and I will take you to them! :)

I was glad to see that it looks like they are about through "stabilizing" the 1874 Little Kinnakeet building, there wasn't any outward work that I could tell that was being done on the Southern Pattern-type building. I thought that was to be done before moving to the Bodie Island station, but some work is already being done there (BI).

Stephen, is that where they were clearing trees at BI when I was there last? It was across the drive fm the Keeper's facing the Keeper's.

I thought that the original plan was to move them to the entrance area along side Hwy. 12 where you make the turn into Bodie, but I am not sure exactly where they are planning to put them.

Stephen,

I really like the latest photo you posted. The trees and surrounding brush bring it more alive for me. I can picture people doing work at it. I feel like I am getting glimpse of something wonderful.

Here is one more I found as I was going through the files from the weekend. I like this one because it is what I think the station would have looked like many years ago with all the grasses. Kind of makes it look deserted.
