The Lighthouse Handbook: New England

Have you come across a good book, story or narrative regarding lighthouses, keepers, or lighthouse-related material? Share it here.

I'm now taking pre-orders for my new book, The Lighthouse Handbook: New England, which will be out in May. It's 440 pages with hundreds of color photos, all mine except one (Ladies Delight Light in Maine) by Mr. Ross Tracy. The book has travel directions and tour info, etc., for every light in New England, and there's also some history and interesting facts for each one.

Jeremy ...

FYI ... Clicked on the link ... first time ever going to your site the warning of "suspicious site" appeared ... it happened last night ... it happened just now ... it was a warning about the potential for being a "phishing" site ...

We both know people who know about these type intrusions

Once this issue is clear, I would very much like to order a copy ...

That's weird, Barry -- thanks for letting me know! Please let me know by email (keeper@lighthouse.cc) who your internet service provider is, so that I can notify my web hosting company. This is the first I've heard of this.

Sounds like another fabulous book, Jeremy! And if you can't have ALL of your own photos, you couldn't ask for a better "guest photographer"!!!

Sure he could:
"I want a better guest photographer!" :)

There's always debate around Ladies Delight being an "official" lighthouse, after kayaking out on the lake for shots, then trying to return with 2-4ft windswept water only to pull dock on private property and thankfully be driven back to camp, I'm proud to say it's official :)

Congrats to JD, this is the one to have 100% confidence of accuracy and information!

I thought by including Ross in the book, I could ride his coattails to glory!

I'm trying to get to the bottom of that "phishing" message. Believe me, I've never done any phishing, spamming, or anything close. Hopefully I'll have it straightened out very soon. In the meantime, if anyone wants to order the book and can't access that page, just email me and I can invoice you using PayPal.

Jeremy, your e-mails have been showing up in my junk mail as well. There is no reference to you as a sender and the displayed name is something strange. That could be related to this "phishing" issue.

That has to do with the fact that I started using messagebot.com to manage my mailing list. It seems to be a legitimate service, but apparently some ISPs tag it as a spammer. I'm not going to use messagebot any more.

I don't think that's necessarily related to the "phishing" issue, but it might be. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of it. But I can guarantee everyone that I don't do any phishing, and there's nothing unsafe about ordering through my site.

There's good news!

All should now know ... no longer does the warning attached to the link to Jeremy's book page exist ...

Doubt those who find it ...

That "phishing" warning must have happened because I had an email list signup box on the page created through messagebot.com. I removed it, and I won't be using that service from now on, needless to say.

Thanks for the good wishes. By the way, the publisher (Cider Mill Press) is donating 16 copies that will be given as prizes to every contestant in the ALF Lighthouse Trivia Challenge on May 16.

Great news!! I just received a shipment of the books, much sooner than I expected. I'll ship to those who've ordered the book in the next couple of days.
