The Overfalls completed their journey at 1:30 AM, they reported perfect weather and no problems with the hull leaking. They expect the repair to take 6 to 8 weeks and probably want return the ship back to Lewes til the Spring. RED

Hello Madame Moderator ... from The Cape Gazette

http://www.capegazette.com/storiescurre ... lls27.html

One caveat to the euphoria ...
Bernheisel said the Overfalls would return to Lewes in spring. Construction of a permanent dock for the ship would cost about $750,000. Bob Humes, Overfalls foundation president, said the organization must raise about $300,000 to have sufficient funds to cover dock construction costs.

It sounds like the community of Lewes is behind the project of raising the money needed. It's starting out small, but other businesses will get behind it too. Fundraising is a tough job, and this economy will make it a lot more difficult, but if the community sees the benefits, the job will get done.

It's really good news to see this ship get restored.
