From a column in The Providence Journal previewing soon to be released cookbooks ...

The history and legends of Beavertail Lighthouse here in Rhode Island are featured in The American Lighthouse Cookbook: The Best Recipes and Stories from America’s Shorelines (coming from Sourcebooks in September). Becky Sue Epstein and Ed Jackson are the authors. They cite the lore that one of Captain Kidd’s last feasts likely took place there in 1696.

Unclear on the meaning above, if it's good or bad ^^^

Did you get paid? Or at least give them permission? And do you get credit?

It would be awful if it was used without your knowledge and permission.

If it is with your permission and blessing, than I echo Barry (with some additions):

Sue ... Ive always been a "half full" person and never gave thought to the alternative you posed ... I would surely hope it was a negotiated usage. 8O

Congrats ross, always good to see one of our own in print. I bet this cookbook will be a winner, too.

I have a picture in a lighthouse book too. Not as good as yours though Ross.

On page 88. Davaar lighthouse. I was lucky enough to stay there a few years ago. I got a free copy of the book and the credit for the picture and was happy with that.

That is so cool, Lin. I've corresponded with Joy. She sends me occasional news. I didn't know she wrote a book!

Hehe, I'm happy when my articles are republished in various newsletters. So far, World Lighthouse Society newsletter, the Association of Lighthouse Keepers magazine, and the Washington Lightkeepers Society have reprinted some of my stories. No pay of course, and wouldn't charge them anyway.
