During the Delaware Bay Lighthouse Keepers & Friends meeting in Sea Isle City, NJ yesterday there was a brief discussion regarding the impending fate of the LSS Structure in Ocean City. I visited the site on my way home; here are a few images:

If anyone has any additional details or knows of existing preservation efforts please post them here. The situation looks rather bleak.

Rather bleak indeed, unless someone can find $1,072,500.00 in the next 23 days. I play Megamillions twice a week, but so far without much luck.

What is planned for the lot? A Wawa? CVS? Walgreens?

I agree, Leah! A handsome structure, it is, to boot! A classic!

I'm not going to be liked for this response but here goes.

I'm all for preservation but it seems to me that the individual has bent over backwards to live by the law and has gotten nowhere.

It's not possible to save everything that is old or historic and decisions need to be made based on money, unfortunately.

It will be a shame if this structure is lost but maybe people should have thought of this when it was for sale 9 years ago.

I'll just sit back and wait for the flames to strike me. :D

I'm hoping it will still be there in August when Esther and I spend a weekend in Ocean city, NJ.

Hopefully this delay will give time for them to find someone to buy it.
