There is a statement in this article that stands out. "Coast Guard history in general is not well-known,---" This is by far not the only part of U.S history not well known. It is unfortunate and so apparent that a foreign dignitary when giving a speech or presentation demonstrates a superior knowledge of the history of this country beyond that of those in the U.S audience.
